Journal 66: Real American

In the passage in response to the executive order 9066, the author was a little girl that claims to have a lot of things in common with the other Americans. She thinks she is a real American because she is adapted to tis culture and uses other eating utensils instead of chopsticks, and that she like food most other Americans like. She thinks that she is a true American because she spent a lot of time there and learned its culture. i do not think those things are convincing, because this is just stereotypical image of an average American, yet many have different preferences and culture. The Japanese girl . In my opinion, is just trying to fit in and getting use the environment? To be a true citizen of a country is to have utter loyalty with it, to support your country and to take a stand, even against stronger forces, not just to immigrant to the most powerful country in the world and act that you are born there and that it is cooler, those kind of citizen will be the first to betray their country once war started or when the country begins to decline. If I were to prove that I am a real Taiwanese, i will understand its fundamental ideas and support democracy, I will not go running around waving my passport nor will I lie that I am something else. I will be pissed when idiots thinks that Jeremy Lin is from communist china. I will be pissed when no one heard of Taiwan before T_T. I will get mad when people purchase Samsung products. I don’t think that the last requirement necessary proves me as a Taiwanese, but it shows that at least I care.
